Standing stretches for tennis players 🤸
Because we don’t always like to get our clothes dirty…
Health & Wellness
In the June edition of the VESA Newsletter, we covered exercises for Lateral Epicondylitis - commonly known as tennis elbow. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, we heard you loud and clear! Which is why we added a “health & wellness” section covering topics on how to improve your game off the court. This month we are focusing on stretches for the lower body, which you can do at home or after your game / practice. STANDING LOWER BODY STRETCHES / VIDEO GUIDE

Strings / racquet advice from the experts…
Equipment / Tip of the month
Knowing when to replace tennis strings is essential for tennis players to maintain optimal performance and prevent injuries. Generally, tennis strings should be replaced when they lose their tension, which typically occurs after 10-20 hours of play. However, this can vary depending on the player's style, frequency of play, and string material.
⁃ Natural gut strings offer excellent playability and comfort but are less durable and may need replacement sooner.
⁃ Synthetic gut strings provide a good balance of playability and durability and are suitable for many players.
⁃ Polyester strings are more durable and offer control but can be stiffer on the arm.
⁃ Hybrid setups, where different strings are used for the main and cross strings, can also be employed to customize the feel and performance.
Regardless of the string type, staying attentive to the string's condition will help tennis players make the most of their game and avoid unnecessary issues on the court.
Ottawa Beach Tennis 🏖🎾
Tennis anywhere. For everyone!
World of Sports
Our friends at Ottawa Beach Tennis are hosting an open house to introduce new participats to “BT”. A combination of volleyball and tennis, played on the sand with a paddle & depressurized balls. It’s played entirely with volleys (no bounce), with the same scoring as traditional tennis (15-30-40-Game). The only other racquet sport recognized by the International Tennis Federation. Come check it out!
Closing remarks
We will be providing an update regarding our Fall / Winter plans in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience and ongoing support, it means the world to us. In the meantime, let’s enjoy more “normal” summer temperatures ahead. Keep an eye out for our end-of-season event as well! 😎
